    Sat 10/27 - MD-National Capital Park & Planning Commission (M-NCPPC)’s is hosting their Annual STEAM Fest in Upper Marlboro to bring out the inner STEAM power in PG Co’s youth by providing engaging and fun programming in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.

    Many halloween events coming up including:

    ArBOOretum at the Cylburn Arboretum (Baltimore) tomorrow night (10/26) where kids can explore the spooky mansion, trick or treat around the gardens, listen to creepy music and learn about bats, owls, spiders and other nocturnal wildlife with DNR Naturalists.     Sat 9/29 - Piney Run Apple Festival, Eldersurg, just north of Columbia. Enjoy everything apple as well as family craft making activities, scarecrow making, hayrides, music and more.

    9/22-10/28 Sats/Suns - Homestead Gardens Fall Festival, Davidsonville - In their 35th year, Homestead Gardens’ Fall festival is the largest in the area, featuring hayrides, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, corn cannon, pollinator express, corn box, carnival games, pony rides, beer garden and their amazing apple cider donuts. Also with food, including Beards Creek BBQ!

    9/22-10/28 - Sats/Suns - Greenstreet Gardens Fall Festival in Lothian - featuring many of the same things but also including a petting zoo, spider web and tire tower.

    Sat 9/29 - Hops & Harvest Festival in Columbia - featuring 75 MD beers, wines and spirits along with 25 MD artisans and other vendors as well as local food, live entertainment, games and more.

    Sat 9/29 - Oella History Hike at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum - Learn local history while hiking 3.5 miles at Banneker Park. Advance registration is required

    Sun 9/30 - Do you know the story of Cassiopeia or how to make your own glow water? Check out the Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills for Moonlight Mania. Learn the mysteries of the stars, create your own constellation and watch the stages of the moon in person!

    Today/all weekend 9/28-9/30 - 23rd Annual Baltimore Book Festival - Baltimore’s premier celebration of literary arts showcasing renowned and celebrity authors, book signings, panel discussions, children’s activities and more.

    This weekend 9/29-9/30 - Muddy Creek Artists Guild Studio Tour - This third annual artists’ studio tour showcases Guild artists working on a variety of media in an “open house” at their respective studios.

    This weekend 9/29-9/30 - Charm City Fly-In - Remote Control Airplane Festival - Halethorpe - this annual event is the largest celebration of radio controlled flying in Maryland with two days of demonstrations, airshows and hands on experience with radio controlled planes, jets, helicopters and more.

    Mon 10/1-10/31 - Free Fall Baltimore - is a citywide arts celebration featuring more than 300 free arts and cultural activities at venues around Baltimore. Check their website for a full list of participating venues.

    Anne Arundel County Fair - starts Wed 9/12 - all next weekend

    Tonight - 9/6 - 4th Annual Baltimore Taxidermy Open presented by the Walters Art Gallery and Bazaar, a Hampden shop specializing in natural history items and morbid gifts, this exhibit features works of alternative taxidermy as well as examples of taxidermy from the Walters’ collection.

    Sat 9/8 - Columbia - Color Columbia - Plein Air Paint Out - Come out and check out artists painting outdoors around Lake Kittamaqundi and Wilde Lake in Columbia. You’re also invited to join the artists, with your family and friends. All supplies provided and some light instruction available.

    Sat 9/8 - Frederick - In The Street Festival including Craft Beverage Experience - Spend the day enjoying nine blocks of fun children’s activities, local art organizations, four stages of entertainment, beer/wine gardens, local Frederick breweries and distilleries, live music and plenty of food.

    Sat 9/8 - Chesapeake Beach and North Beach - in association with the Chesapeake Beach Oyster Cultivation Society and Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail, it’s their “Taste the Beaches” festival. There will be local restaurants, food trucks, beer and wine, a Kids Zone with The Chesapeake Mermaid, their Fish Mobile (a travelling aquarium with Chesapeake Bay inhabitants), a Birds of Prey exhibit, local vendors and live music.

    Sat-Sun 9/8-9/9 - Check out the 51st Annual Maryland Seafood Festival at Sandy Point State Park - As always, it features music, contests, great food, their famous crab soup cook-off and much more.
