Today - Annapolis Maritime Museum - Winter Lecture Series - Rosemary Williams will paint a vivid image of Annapolis with tails of violent skirmishes between outlaw oyster poachers, the crabbing rage of the 20th century, the slight of hand trick by the Secretary of the Navy that brought the Naval Academy to Annapolis as well as the cities Golden Age of Sailing. Stunning vintage images of Annapolis’ history complete her presentation.

Sat/Sun 2/23-24 - Annapolis Artisans Market - You can find Local by Design’s artists at their downtown location and their Annapolis Mall locations, but for one weekend a month, the artists clean up their workshop in the Design District, on Margaret Ave just off of Chinquapin Round Rd and invite the public in. Meet the artists and check out their workshop and wares in the monthly Local by Design Annapolis Artisans Market

Tomorrow 2/22 - Sip and Carve with Anita Hagan - Anita will discuss the history of woodblock carving and the materials used, followed by 2 hours of drawing on easy to carve material, carving and printing your finished work! Students will make an original 4in x 6in print

Monday - 2/25 - 11th Annual Bridges to the World International Film Festival - A statewide initiative in recognition of the state’s global reach and connections. Films selected and prived by the respective embassies to represent their country’s spirit and art of film making. Entries this year include films from Lithuania, Israel, Mozambique and a Canadian film about Syrian musicians. The one showing on Monday is “The Train of Salt and Sugar”, the Mozambique entry.

Clay Bakers - Annapolis

Sun 2/24 and Wed 2/27 - Wet Clay workshops making Handmade Mini Plates - You’ll be walked through how to mold wet ceramic clay into mini dishes. The workshop fee covers 1lb of clay which you will shape and fire then come back later to paint then one more time in the kiln to see and gloss your creation.

Tomorrow - 2/22 - So Sew! - Are you interested in sewing and other fiber arts either as an experienced practitioner or as a total newbie, come on out, hang out, socialize, near about different techniques and machines. We’ll have a few on hand, including a traditional sewing machines as well as servers and embroidery machines. Learn what they each machine is good for and different techniques for working with fabric for making or repairing your own clothing, making costumes, stuffed animals and pillows, all kinds of things. We’re going to try to make this a monthly gathering.

Mondays are official Woodworking night - If you want to get into woodworking or want to pick someone’s brain on a project you’re working on, drop by on Mondays to meet other local woodworkers.
